Our editorial staff has gathered thousands of full-text documents and categorized them into key public affairs topics. Documents are displayed in a new browser window and contain links to assist you in your research on a particular topic.
The top-right navigation bar contains links to general document navigation tools:
Home |
Closes the Document Window and displays the Home Page in the main site browser window. |

If the document is displayed in a list, the "Previous" button will refresh the Document Window to display the previous document in the list. |

If the document is displayed in a list, the "Next" button will refresh the Document Window to display the next document in the list. |

To save the document to the list of Favorite Documents, click on the check box marked "Save to Favorite Documents". This box will remain checked as long as the Document remains in the Favorite Documents list. See Favorite Documents Help for more information on this subject.
If you have logged in using a 'Your Profile' account, the Favorite Documents page will display only the documents viewed under that profile.
If you have not logged in using a 'Your Profile' account, the Favorite Documents page will display documents viewed while logged into the main account purchased by your Library or Institution.
CiteNow! is a feature that generates a citation for a specific document. It can be found in the document navigation bar within any document.
To create a citation for a document, simply click on the CiteNow! icon in the Document Window and choose the citation style that is appropriate for your research. The document citation is also available at the bottom of the document. APA is the default style, but you can change the citation style by following these steps:
1. Click on the CiteNow! button.
2. Select the desired citation stye. Four citation styles are offered: APA, Chicago, MLA, and Blue Book.
3. Click on "Save the Style to the Document." The Document Window will refresh with the new citation style appearing at the bottom of the page.

When a search is performed using keywords, those keywords are highlighted throughout the document text. The arrow in front of the keyword links to the previous instance of the keyword. The arrow behind the keyword links to the next instance of the keyword in the document.
To e-mail documents:
1. Click on "E-mail This Document."
2. Complete the e-mail form and press "Send E-mail." Below is a description of the fields in the e-mail form.
Field Description To Enter the e-mail address of the recipient. You may send the list to more than one e-mail address by separating e-mail addresses with a comma. This is a mandatory field. From Enter your e-mail address. This is a mandatory field. Subject line Enter a subject to appear in the subject line of your e-mail (optional). Message Enter a message to appear in the text of the e-mail (optional).
Format of the E-mail
The document text appears in the message body of your e-mail.
To format the document for printing, click on the "Format for Printing" button. The Document Window will refresh to display the document without background color or the "Learn More About..." box. Print the document using the print function on your browser.
The shaded box in the right corner of the document contains links to other documents in the collection that relate to the same topic as the document being viewed. Our editorial staff has identified the articles under "Further Reading" to be of interest or high importance to a particular topic. Additional Resources provides links to other related information found in the CQ Public Affairs Collection.
You will find that many of the documents in the Collection contain links imbedded in the document text.
When you click on a link, the Document Window will refresh to display the results of the link. Use the 'Previous' button to get back to your original document. Sites outside of the CQ Public Affairs Collection, such as links to full primary sources or links to organizational sites, will be displayed in a new browser window.
