In 2010, the District of Columbia had a higher median age of men at first marriage than any of the 50 states. It has consistently held the top spot since 2002. Idaho has the lowest median age at 25.4.

In 2010, commuters in Maryland experienced the longest commute of any state in the country. Which state offers the shortest commute? North Dakota at 16.1 minutes.

How To: You can see a detailed state view for any data series by double clicking on the state within the interactive map. To return to the default map view click the See National View button in the upper left.
For the 50 states there may be a negative correlation between the Percent of Births that are Pre-Term, defined as births before 37 weeks of gestation, and the Average Age of Woman at First Birth.

How to: You can compare any two data series to see if there is a correlation. On the Compare tab, choose Data Series and then use the drop down to select what data series you would like to compare to the one you are currently viewing.
From 2008 to 2010, the Great Lake states have experienced rises and falls in the average revenue collected for each individual tax return filed with the Federal Government. For many years Illinois had the highest average, but has now been exceeded by Ohio.

How to: You can create a trend line chart of up to 6 states for any data series. Under Compare - States, select a state from the drop down and add using the "+". You can view the data as a line chart or in a table.
These states had the most reported hate crime offenses in 2010. The national total was 7,699.

To export data simply find what you're interested in, then go to the data series page and choose the export option above the panel. You can export the data for any year you want.
