How to Cite

Citation styles for electronic materials are continually evolving. In an effort to provide the most up-to-date citations for CQ Press's online documents, the editorial staff has created Citenow! This tool creates example citations for each document in APA, MLA, Chicago and Blue Book styles. CiteNow! citations can be exported to bibliographic software.

Because the guides do not include a citation style that is directly applicable to the Political Handbook of the World Online Edition, the CQ Press editorial staff amended the online reference database style slightly to create a citation that includes all the information necessary to locate the material in the citation.

Below are examples of bibliographic citations to Political Handbook of the World Online Edition in the following four formats:

APA: Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association: Fifth Edition

Bluebook: The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation: 17th Edition

Chicago: Chicago Manual of Style: 15th Edition

MLA: MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers: Sixth Edition

Or, you may create your own citation based on the following examples:

Title of document [Capitalize first letter of first word and all proper nouns]. (Year of print publication). In [Editor Initial and Last Name] (Eds.), Print edition title and year.
