Maps in the Collection

The "Maps" feature on the lefthand navigation bar provides interactive maps, with additional information accessible by link and rollover.

Using the Interactive Popular and Electoral Vote Maps

National maps are available for all presidential, gubernatorial, House, and Senate races and elections included in the Collection. Additional information can be found as follows:

  • Rolling your mouse over any state will call up candidate-level data for presidential, gubernatorial, and Senate races, and party breakdown of seats for House races.

  • Clicking on a state for presidential, gubernatorial, and Senate races will link you to a state map with county boundaries. Rolling your mouse over any county will call up candidate-level data for that county. These county boundary maps are available for the years 1980 to present.

  • Clicking on a state for House races will link you to a state map with congressional district boundaries. Rolling your mouse over any district will call up candidate-level data for that district. These congressional district maps are available for the 1998, 2000, and 2002 congressional elections.
