The Chronology begins with the Continental era and runs through the present day, focusing on congressional and presidential elections as well as major developments in the elections process. Clicking on a range brings up a list of Congresses, presidential elections, and corresponding developments, including changes in the Constitution, the electorate, campaign practices, and political parties. To view a Congress within the date range selected, place your curser over a red arrow. To move back in time, place your curser over the left arrow. To move forward, place your curser over the right arrow. When you have reached a Congress you wish to view, remove the curser from the arrow.
