The president's Oval Office is just one of four oval-shaped rooms in the White House. The others are the diplomatic reception room on the ground floor, the Blue Room on the first floor, and the Yellow Oval Room on the second (family quarters) floor. Theodore Roosevelt, who was occupying the White House during the 1902 construction of the West Wing, copied the oval shape for his new office in that wing.
