About 44 percent of the institutions that had announced plans for the fall semester as of Aug. 21 will hold classes mostly or fully online, while about 28 percent will hold them mostly or entirely in person, according to data compiled by Davidson College in North Carolina. Another 21 percent will use a hybrid model.
