Social Security as an Issue in the Campaign

Social security was projected into the presidential campaign as an active issue by Governor Landon's criticism of the existing legislation in an address at Milwaukee on September 26 and by John G. Winant's subsequent resignation from the chairmanship of the Social Security Board to enter the lists in defense of the administration's program.
